My Windows Laptop got sent to the repair shop. It would take three weeks to get it fixed. Despite it being my secondary personal computer (pc), it still handicaps me. My primary pc uses Linux Mint, one of the most popular Linux distributions. In the blog, I would go through how I use the different OS for different purposes.
Linux | Mac OS | Windows | |
---|---|---|---|
Control over system | 1 | 2 | 3 |
Developer friendliness | 1 | 2 | 3 |
Graphic card support | 2 | 2 | 1 |
Hardware support | 3 | 1 | 1 |
Market shares | 3 | 2 | 1 |
Open-source | 1 | 2 | 2 |
Performance | 1 | 2 | 3 |
Software update | 1 | 2 | 3 |
Stability | 1 | 2 | 3 |
Applications / Gaming | 2 | 2 | 1 |
Microsoft suite | 3 | 2 | 1 |
Tableau | 3 | 2 | 1 |
I will use Linux for everything if I could. Unfortunately, due to smaller market shares. It does not have as many applications and hardware support as Windows or Mac OS. I use Windows for Microsoft suite, Tableau, and light gaming.
I hope Linux would eventually address all the weaknesses.
